Description
Nothe Fort is a fascinating historical monument, built between 1860 and 1872 by the Royal Engineers to protect the ports of Weymouth and Portland.
Today it's a living museum with a maze of underground corridors, parade squares and impressive cannons on the ramparts. Visitors can enjoy realistic models, authentic artifacts and interactive exhibits that take you back to the fort's glory days.
There are special activities for families, including a fun mouse hunt, and the ramparts offer spectacular views of the Dorset Jurassic Coast.
