North Leigh Roman Villa

North Leigh Roman Villa is a fascinating monument of Roman architecture dating back to the 1st century AD, located in the picturesque Oxfordshire Valley.

This sprawling courtyard villa, one of the largest in England, had as many as 60 rooms, three baths and 16 mosaic floors during its heyday. The surviving 3rd century mosaics, carefully restored in 1929, allow one to imagine the luxury of life for the Roman elite.

Evidence of illegal coin production has also been discovered at the excavation site, adding to the site's mystery. Information panels and a map show how the villa developed over the centuries, offering a fascinating journey through time.
