Description
The Pod Żabami Tenement House is a unique example of Art Nouveau architecture in Bielsko-Biała. Built in 1903 to a design by Emanuel Rost junior, it impresses with its irregular form with a characteristic square tower in the corner.
The most recognizable element of the building is the portal on the north façade, which features two frogs in formal attire - one smoking a pipe, the other playing a mandolin, both sitting by a barrel of wine.
The building originally housed Rudolf Nahowski's winery, which adds to its historical context and makes it a significant landmark on the city's map for architecture and art lovers.
