Castell de Sant Ferran

Castell de Sant Ferran is an impressive 18th century military fortress that is one of the largest fortifications in Europe. It covers an area as large as 320,000 square meters and is a masterpiece of military architecture.

This massive structure has five bastions, 93 casemates and underground stables capable of holding 500 horses. The system of water reservoirs under the parade square can store up to 40 million liters of water!
