Description
Ancient City Wall is one of the best-preserved fortified walls in China, dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). This impressive structure, 13.7 km long, 12 m high and 15-18 m wide at the base, surrounds the center of Xi'an in a rectangular shape.
As you stroll along the walls, you can admire the four original gates, watchtowers and the city skyline. For activity lovers, bicycles are available for rent.
It's not only a historical monument, but also a lively place - the Lantern Festival and the Xi'an City Wall International Marathon are held here.
