Description
Alfred's Tower is a stunning 49-meter triangular observation tower built with more than one million bricks. This unique structure commemorates the end of the Seven Years' War and the accession of King George III to the throne.
The tower stands on the site where, according to legend, King Alfred the Great gathered the Saxons before the Battle of Edington in 878.
Climbing the 205 steps rewards you with breathtaking views of the three counties. It's a real treat for history and architecture buffs, as well as those seeking unusual landscapes.
