Description

Gripsholm Castle is a Renaissance castle with over 500 years of history, located in picturesque Mariefred, Sweden.

Built in 1537 by King Gustav Vasa, it impresses with its red brick facade and soaring towers. The castle's interiors, including the Prince Charles Chamber, are among the best preserved from the Vasa era.

The castle is home to the Swedish State Portrait Collection, displaying paintings of historical figures from the 16th century to the present. Culture lovers will be delighted by the 18th-century theater built by King Gustav III, considered one of the best preserved in Europe.
