Description
Greyfriars is a fascinating historical monument in Gloucester, founded in 1231 by Lord Berkeley. This medieval Franciscan monastery impresses with its unique Gothic architecture, especially its impressive nave and north side aisle of almost equal height and width.
As you walk around, you'll discover traces of its tumultuous history - from its Gothic-style reconstruction in 1518 to its destruction during the siege of Gloucester in 1643.
