Byzantium Monastiraki

Byzantium Monastiraki is a family-run jewelry and religious artifact shop, operating since 1974 in the heart of Athens' Monastiraki market. The owner, Stratos, personally creates unique pieces from 18- and 22-karat gold and 925 and 950 sterling silver.

The shop offers hand-painted icons using egg tempera, traditional Greek souvenirs, colorful scarves, and mosaic lanterns. Each item is an authentic, museum-quality handicraft, often with a fascinating story told by the owner's family.
