Seih Sou

Seih Sou is a sprawling suburban forest located on the slopes of Mount Chortiatis near Thessaloniki. This green paradise of some 30,000 acres offers excellent walking, biking and picnicking.

The forest's rich history dates back to Ottoman times, when it was deforested, followed by a reforestation project in 1921, planting nearly 5 million trees.

The forest is inhabited by foxes, hares, squirrels and numerous species of birds. There are scenic panoramic views from many points, and the grounds include two outdoor amphitheater theaters and St. Basil's Chapel.
