Description
Glasgow Botanic Gardens is an oasis of tranquility in the heart of Glasgow, established in 1817. The garden impresses with its impressive Kibble Palace greenhouse - one of the largest in the UK, home to the national collection of tree ferns.
This site offers a diverse collection of plants, including an herb garden and a chronological arrangement of plants according to their introduction to Scotland. The hilly terrain and expansive lawns make for an ideal picnic spot.
You can join free health walks on Thursdays, and there are various events throughout the year, including the GlasGLOW spectacular Halloween light and sound show.
