Description
The Hamburg City Hall is an imposing neo-Renaissance building that is a symbol of the city's wealth and autonomy.
Built between 1886 and 1897 by a team of seven architects led by Martin Haller, it impresses with a rich façade decorated with sculptures of emperors and counts.
The interior dazzles with marble columns, leather upholstery, wooden carvings and huge paintings. The 112-meter-high tower topped by a golden eagle is a landmark of the city.
It is a great place for architecture and history lovers.
