Description
German Resistance Memorial Center is a unique museum commemorating the German resistance against the Nazi regime. It is located in the historic Bendler Block, exactly where the July 20, 1944 assassination attempt on Hitler (Operation Valkyrie) was planned.
In the memorial courtyard stands a bronze sculpture depicting a man with his hands tied, commemorating the site of the conspirators' execution. A permanent exhibition documents the motives, goals and forms of the struggle against the Nazi dictatorship through thousands of documents and photographs.
The museum offers free admission and an audioguide in many languages, including Polish.
