Modern Art Gallery

The Modern Art Gallery is housed in the 18th-century neoclassical Villa Reale, which was once the residence of Napoleon Bonaparte. The largest municipal collection of 19th-century Lombard art features works by Francesco Hayez, Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Picasso. High-vaulted rooms with frescoes, classical sculptures, and original mythological decorations create a unique setting for masterpieces of Romanticism, Divisionism, and Symbolism. The English garden surrounding the villa completes the artistic experience.
