Description
Pointe du Hoc is a dramatic site on the cliffs of Normandy, where on June 6, 1944, American Rangers carried out one of the most daring assaults in the history of D-Day. Thirty-meter cliffs, preserved bunkers, bomb craters, and concrete casemates create an authentic battle scene. A granite monument commemorates the heroism of the soldiers who captured German artillery positions under fire. Managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission, the site offers free tours with a mobile app.
