Description
Site gallo romains is one of the largest rural archaeological sites in Gaul, where you will discover an impressive Roman theater carved into a natural hillside, capable of seating 7,000 spectators.
At the top of the hill is a vast 5,600 m² temple complex with four temples and cult buildings. The site was a religious and cultural center on the ancient Via Agrippa road connecting Saintes to Lyon.
The interpretation center in a restored 19th-century farmhouse offers a fascinating journey through the history of the excavations and everyday life in Roman Gaul.
