Description
The Royal Castle in Cognac is a thousand-year-old fortress where King Francis I was born, and whose reception rooms were designed by Leonardo da Vinci himself. The three-meter-thick medieval walls conceal magnificent Renaissance chambers with carved medallions and salamanders.
Today, Baron Otard cognac matures in the castle's Gothic cellars, combining history with the tradition of distilling. The tour takes you through the oldest rooms, the Guard Room designed by da Vinci, to the atmospheric underground rooms on the banks of the Charente.
