Fontanna Maksymiliana

The Maximilian Fountain is a historical monument dating back to 1572, located in Bratislava's Main Square. The impressive structure with a 10.5-meter column topped by a figure of a knight in armor delights tourists and history buffs.

Fascinating legends circulate around the fountain - it is said that at midnight on New Year's Day the knight bows to the town hall, paying tribute to the twelve councilors who sacrificed their lives for the city. It is also said that on Good Friday it comes to life and waves its sword in the four directions of the world, symbolizing the protection of the city.

It is the perfect place to relax and take photos while exploring Bratislava's Old Town.
