Description
Fontaine des Anglais (Capdenac) is a unique troglodytic fountain with ancient origins, a true historical gem of the region.
This Roman-era structure, some 2,000 years old, consists of two pools and played a key role in defending the village during sieges, particularly during the Hundred Years' War.
Access to the fountain is provided by a staircase carved into the rock (120 steps), and the whole thing is protected by a monumental wall. This unique site offers a breathtaking view of the Lot Valley.
