Description

The Helsinki Cathedral is an impressive neoclassical monument that dominates the city's skyline with its distinctive green dome surrounded by four smaller ones.

Originally built as a tribute to Tsar Nicholas I, it was known as St. Nicholas Church until Finland's independence in 1917.

The interior is breathtaking with an altar painted by Carl Timoleon von Neff and impressive zinc statues of the twelve apostles adorning the roofline. It is the perfect place for lovers of architecture and history.
