Description
The Etruscan Pyramid of Bomarzo is a fascinating megalithic monument carved into a single block of volcanic rock. This mysterious structure, about 10 meters high, with two flights of stairs leading to the top, dates back to the Etruscan civilization (700-400 BC) or even the earlier Rinaldonian civilization (4000-2000 BC).
An aura of mystery surrounds the site - carvings in the rock, including long grooves and channels, suggest ritual functions, probably related to animal sacrifices. The pyramid is located in the Sacred Forest of Bomarzo, near the famous Monster Park, adding to its enigmatic atmosphere.
