Description
Eguisheim is a charming medieval village in Alsace, built concentrically around the 13th-century octagonal Château de Saint-Léon-Pfalz.
Delightful colorful half-timbered houses, narrow cobblestone streets and picturesque squares create a fairy-tale atmosphere. Strolling through the medieval streets, visitors can admire Saint-Léon Square with its fountain and the Church of Saints Peter and Paul with its 13th-century wooden statue.
Eguisheim is famous for its excellent wines - there are two Grand Crus: Eichberg and Pfersigberg. Numerous wineries offer tastings of local liquors, making the village a paradise for wine lovers.
