Eglwys y Grog (Holy Cross Church)

Eglwys y Grog (Holy Cross Church) is a medieval church with a remarkable history dating back to the Age of Saints (410-700 AD).

This unique 13th-14th century building impresses with its whitewashed stone walls, medieval vault and 12th century Preseli stone baptismal font. The interior conceals unusual medieval roof trusses and a hexagonal Victorian pulpit.

The site is shrouded in local legends, including the story of the landing of Flemish mercenaries in 1155 and the bloody battle commemorated as 'Coch y Mwnt' (Red Sunday Mwnt).
