Description
Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse is a historic 1828 lighthouse that has survived many transformations. It was originally a two-story house with a lighthouse on the roof, which keepers had to reach by boat until a wooden causeway was built in 1830, known as the 'Bridge of Sighs'.
After being destroyed by a hurricane in 1938, the current lighthouse was transported from Crane's Beach in Ipswich and restored in 2008. The surrounding 'Lighthouse Beach' offers picturesque views, perfect for photography enthusiasts, especially during sunrise and sunset.
