Description
East Side Gallery is the longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall, converted into the world's largest permanent outdoor art gallery.
The 1.3-kilometer stretch along the Spree River features more than 100 murals created by artists from 21 countries. The works combine political messages, psychedelic visions and artistic expressions.
The most famous murals are 'My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love' by Dimitri Vrubel and 'Detour to the Japanese Sector' by Thomas Klingenstein. It is a unique combination of history, politics and art that fascinates both history and contemporary art lovers.
