Description
The St. Mark's Bell Tower in Venice is a majestic 98.6-meter-high structure that is the tallest building in the city. Called 'el paron de casa' (the master of the house) by locals, this imposing tower offers breathtaking views of St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and all of Venice.
Originally serving as a watchtower and lighthouse, its history dates back to the 9th century. Today's form is the result of numerous alterations, with the final shape achieved in the 16th century. An elevator makes it easy to access the top, from where you can enjoy a panorama that remains long in the memory.
