Description
30 East Drive, The Black Monk of Pontefract is one of the most haunted houses in Britain. Since 1966, the place has been famous for the activity of a poltergeist known as the Black Monk or Fred.
The house stands on the site of the former gallows where a monk accused of the rape and murder of a young girl was executed in the 16th century. His ghost is said to be responsible for unexplainable phenomena - strange sounds, moving furniture, green foam coming out of faucets and toilets, and phantoms appearing.
The brave can take part in night séances and ghost hunts, experiencing paranormal phenomena firsthand.

The living room door had opened on us while it was shut, no strings as I had walked past where it would've opened from, plus me and my group were the only ones in there. In Diane's room my hair was moved from the side of my neck to behind it. I kept getting an eerie chill up my spine throughout 30 east drive. Dowsing rods had rapidly moved to my father after he asked if anyone was stood by him. The dowsing rods move rapidly in my hands. Torches flickered and it responded to questions. I'm pretty sure there was a lot of Fred/Mr nobody. This was overall amazing. Thank you to jack Michael and Gemma!
Peter Coxa year agoEven though we didn't get loads of happenings we did receive visits. Couple of young ladies took few selfies in the mirror and on looking back at it we could see what looked like monk standing over her shoulder.
Had few issues with the camera here as well. Never had this issue before
Nicky Simpson5 years agoI did an investigation here at the beginning of March 2020 with my paranormal group. We all enjoyed investigating the location, we didn't capture any evidence on our camera system however most of our members that went had personal experiences that they remember.
My most memorable experience was a shadow walking past the end on the bed in the master bedroom, sadly our cameras weren't recording at the time as we were still setting them up.
I would definitely go back here again but possibly have fewer people there to try and reduce and contamination from investigators as it is still a small location, we had 8 investigators there in total; I would possibly only take 4/6 people next time.
