Description
Conjunto Arqueológico Los Baños de La Reina is a fascinating archaeological complex dating from the 1st to the 2nd century AD in Calpe.
Discover the remains of a Roman settlement with a church, necropolis and residential buildings. The most intriguing features are the pools carved into the rocks, which were used for both fish farming and observing marine life.
Legend has it that the complex was built as a spa for a Moorish queen - hence the name 'Queen's Baths'. Preserved mosaics and a system of thermae with cold, hot and warm baths testify to the advanced engineering of the ancient Romans.
