Description
The Commonwealth War Cemetery is a unique memorial located in Berlin's Charlottenburg district, surrounded by the Grunewald forest.
Established in 1945, it provides a resting place for 3601 British soldiers, including 397 unidentified ones, who fell in the eastern regions of Germany during World War II.
The cemetery also contains five graves of Polish airmen whose stories of heroism touch the hearts of visitors. The distinctive Cross of Sacrifice and white tombstones arranged in even rows create an atmosphere of reverie and reflection on history.
