Circ Romà

Circ Romà is a fascinating monument of ancient Rome in Tarragona. This impressive circus from the 1st century AD was an arena for thrilling chariot races and could accommodate as many as 30,000 spectators!

Well-preserved fragments of the racetracks and grandstands allow you to imagine the atmosphere of the ancient spectacles. Underground tunnels and corridors add to the site's mysteriousness.

This is an excellent starting point for discovering the city's Roman history. Prepare comfortable shoes - the ancient stones can be uneven!
