The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bruges is a true gem of Gothic architecture with an imposing 115-meter tower, which is the tallest building in the city.

The interior of the church impresses with its cross vaults, black and white floor and Baroque decorations. The church's greatest treasure is the marble sculpture 'Madonna and Child' chiseled by Michelangelo himself - one of his few works found outside Italy.

The church also houses the tombs of Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary of Burgundy, making the site a unique spot on the historical map of Europe.
