Description
The Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Antwerp is a true gem of Gothic architecture, whose construction lasted from 1352 to 1521.
This imposing temple impresses with its 123-meter north tower and rich interior, where you can admire Rubens' masterpieces, including the famous 'Picture from the Cross'.
The cathedral accommodates as many as 25,000 people at a time and covers an area of 8,000 square meters. Walking through its interior, note the beautiful stained glass windows, the 'Madonna and Child' sculptures and the richly decorated angel throne made of gilded and silver-plated wood.
