Description
Chor Minor Monument is a charming 19th-century gate with four turrets topped with turquoise domes, each decorated with unique patterns.
Built by the wealthy merchant Khalif Niyaz-kula, it is the only remnant of a larger madrasa complex. The name means 'four minarets', although the towers are purely decorative.
Legend has it that they symbolize the four religions of the world or the four children of the founder. The architecture, inspired by the Indian Char Minar, creates a unique contrast with the traditional Bukhara buildings.
