Description
Chemin de Halage is a fascinating path carved into the rock in 1845, once used to tow flat-bottomed boats with goods up the Lot River.
This engineering gem offers unforgettable views of the Lot River valley and the picturesque village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, considered one of the most beautiful in France.
During the 8-kilometer walk (about 2.5 hours), you can admire unique rock carvings by Daniel Monnier and walk through a series of tunnels carved into the rock that once led horses pulling barges.
