Celtic cross

The Celtic Cross on Tara Hill is a fascinating monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of the 1798 Battle of Tara - a key event in Irish history.

Erected in 1948, it impresses with its craftsmanship and rich Celtic symbolism, including a distinctive clover-shaped ornament.

It is part of a larger archaeological complex that also includes the Neolithic tomb of Mound of Hostages and the legendary Stone of Destiny (Lia Fail), believed to have roared three times when struck by the true king of Ireland.
