Description
The Castle of the Counts of Guidi is a medieval gem of Tuscany, built in the 13th century by the influential Guidi family. The impressive structure, with a stone staircase dating back to 1470 and a tower designed by Arnolfo di Cambio, delights lovers of history and architecture.
Inside the castle is a chapel with beautiful frescoes by Taddeo Gaddi, a pupil of Giotto, dating back to the 14th century. An additional attraction is the Rillian Library with over 25,000 volumes and 800 manuscripts.
The castle tower offers a breathtaking view of the picturesque Casentino region.
