Zamek Gibralfaro

Gibralfaro Castle is a medieval fortification towering over Malaga, offering breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.

Built in the 14th century to protect the Alcazaba, it impresses with its double system of walls and eight towers, the tallest of which, the Great Tower, rises 17 meters.

In the castle you can admire a Phoenician shaft 40 meters deep and learn about the fascinating history of the three-month siege by the Catholic Kings in 1487. An interpretive center takes a closer look at the military significance of this impressive monument.
