Description
Cochem Castle is a fairytale fortress towering over the picturesque town and Moselle valley. It combines elements of Romanesque and Gothic styles, impressing with its imposing battlements, pointed towers and bay windows.
Built around 1000, destroyed by the French in 1689 and rebuilt in the 19th century, it hides a fascinating history. Inside, magnificent chambers await: the Hall of Knights, the Dining Hall and the Hall of Trophies.
On Fridays and Saturdays you can attend a medieval knight's feast with minstrels and servants. There is a medieval festival in August and a castle Christmas in December with costumed actors.
