Description
Pembroke Castle is a medieval fortress with an impressive history dating back to 1093. The only castle in Britain built over a natural cave, Wogan Cavern, which served as a boat landing or secret exit to the river.
It impresses with a cylindrical tower 23 meters high and walls 6 meters thick at the base. It is the birthplace of Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty.
Visitors can admire the unique gate with three bronzes and the complex of buildings inside, including the great hall and private apartments. The castle offers a fascinating journey through 900 years of Welsh and British history.
