Description
Peleś Castle is a remarkable Neo-Renaissance style palace located in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains of Romania.
Built for King Charles I between 1873 and 1914, it was the first European palace with electricity and central heating. More than 160 richly decorated chambers delight with wooden carvings, stained glass windows and artwork.
As you tour the site, you'll discover unique interiors, including the Royal Library and the Turkish Room, as well as a sliding glass ceiling in the main hall. It is a true architectural gem, combining Italian elegance with German aesthetics.
