Description
Castello Sforzesco is a medieval fortification in Milan that impresses with its rich history and architecture. Built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, the castle underwent a fascinating transformation from a defensive structure to a Renaissance residence.
Inside lies a veritable treasure trove of art, with numerous museums displaying works by such masters as Leonardo da Vinci, Titian and Michelangelo, whose unfinished sculpture Pietà Rondanini is one of the most valuable attractions.
The Sempione Park, which surrounds the castle, offers a moment of respite after an intense tour. It is the ideal place for lovers of history, art and architecture.
