Description
Ca' d'Oro is one of the most beautiful examples of Venetian Gothic architecture. Built between 1421 and 1437, the palace got its name from the golden decorations that once adorned its facade.
Today it houses the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti, where you can admire works of art, including Mantegni's famous 'St. Sebastian'.
The asymmetrical facade with marble trim, colonnades and Gothic elements will delight any architecture lover. It's a quieter alternative to the crowded attractions of Venice.
