avatar222radona month agoMay 4, 2024 - The Blockline is a beautiful route - I'm getting along great with the signage. However, some of the trails are in poor condition this year. After Dittersbach, they've added nasty gravel, so it's like riding on railway tracks🥚😁 The EBM descent is also brutally battered - guaranteed to give you arthritis between Kahleberg and Geising - the harvester left such ripple marks here, my shock and fork weren't powerful enough😜 oh well - it's still a nice ride and no nasty surprises - I rode it today and was 20 minutes slower than last year🥹 and I wouldn't gravel this route 🤪😵‍💫 Update 2025 New route in Altenberg, not bad, but I liked the old one better - but I think the family attractions there were too busy during the day. The route's condition is now immaculate – however, the EBM section is completely missing, and the Holzhau stone peak is no longer there either. In Altenberg, the beautiful view of the Pinge probably had to make way for a pub access line. The route has presumably been made more family/e-bike friendly, but perhaps a bit too easy for enthusiasts. I'll try the old route next time. As an organizer, however, I would also try to minimize dangerous spots for regular riders and offer refreshment stops 😊
avatarMarcel Grimmer3 years agoThe route is perfectly chosen for exploring the Ore Mountains! Plenty of places to stop and rest. Kudos to the people who maintain the trails. The grass was mowed everywhere and the verges trimmed. I started from Mulda, and the first rest stop was at the former train station in Neuhermsdorf at kilometer 60. After 70km, I reached Holzhau, the actual starting point. Just 20km further on, I took my lunch break at the Beerenhütte in Zinnwald. The homemade cake is highly recommended! You can also find out why the hut is named that way there. After a hearty meal, the last 50km practically rolled by themselves. Many thanks for enriching the region!
avatarT2 years agoA fantastic experience to have ridden the first and second loops. Lots of highlights, very good signage, and a great event with some peaks for beginners to advanced riders. ;-) What I haven't quite figured out yet is how "family-friendly" the trails are? Some descents are over very rough scree/rocks, and some ascents require multiple runs to get the child and bike to the top. Perhaps there are more family-friendly routes/sections, in which case I would completely agree with that statement. @BlockLine - Perhaps these sections/entrances could be marked differently on the website. Overall... top challenges
