Big Pit National Coal Museum

Big Pit National Coal Museum is a fascinating coal mining museum in Wales.

During a 50-minute underground tour, you'll descend 300 feet underground in the company of a former miner, learning about authentic working conditions in the mine.

You'll tour historic buildings, including the engine house and forge, as well as four interactive exhibits showcasing the history of mining in Wales. Particularly moving is the mining baths exhibit, showing the daily life of miners.

Admission to the museum is free, only parking is charged.
