Description
Reinhardstein Castle is a 14th-century fortress built on a rocky outcrop in the Warche Valley, which has survived the centuries thanks to an extraordinary reconstruction. Built in 1354 for Wenceslaus of Luxembourg, the castle protected trade routes and the Duchy of Stavelot-Malmedy.
After being almost completely destroyed in the 19th century, it was meticulously rebuilt between 1965 and 1971 by teacher Jean Overloop, who used authentic documents and materials. Today, it offers guided tours, medieval banquets, concerts, and contemporary art exhibitions.
