Description
The Egyptian Bazaar is one of the oldest and most famous bazaars in Istanbul, built in 1660. The distinctive 'L' shaped building hides some 80 stores under lead domes.
This bustling place is famous for its colorful stalls offering spices, Turkish delicacies, nuts and local products. Especially noteworthy is the central Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi coffee shop, where you can experience traditional Turkish coffee.
The bazaar was originally built to finance the construction of the New Mosque. Today it is a cultural gem where you can immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of Turkey and discover its flavors.
