Description

Lindau's Bayerischer Löwe is an impressive six-meter-high sandstone sculpture that has proudly guarded the entrance to Lindau's harbor since 1856.

This majestic statue, weighing about 50 tons, was created by Johann von Halbig and is a true masterpiece of sculptural art. The lion, a symbol of Bavaria, turns its gaze toward the Alps, as if watching over the city and Lake Constance.

It looks especially beautiful at sunset, when golden rays illuminate its powerful silhouette. It is a must-see on any trip to Lindau!
