Bath Abbey

Bath Abbey is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, with a history dating back more than 1,200 years. The honey-gold columns, stunning stained glass windows and amazing fan vaults will delight any visitor.

The western facade depicts unique 'ladders of angels' ascending to heaven and descending to earth, inspired by Bishop Oliver King's dream. The mitre, olive tree and crown motif on the facade is a play on words alluding to the bishop's name.

The abbey remains a living church, hosting services, concerts and lectures, and is an integral part of the cultural and historic landscape of the city of Bath.
