Description
Laxenburg Castle Park is one of the most important historical landscape gardens in Europe, located just 25 km from Vienna. The 280-hectare area hides a real gem - the artificial Franzensburg Castle, built between 1799 and 1835, which now functions as a museum known as 'Austria's little treasury'.
The park was a favorite vacation spot of the Habsburg dynasty. Here you can rent a boat on the 25-hectare castle lake, enjoy the huge playground of nearly 6,000 sq. m., or admire the panorama of Vienna from the castle tower. For activity enthusiasts, there are more than 10 km of walking paths and cross-country skiing trails.
