Description
Falkenstein Castle is a fascinating medieval ruin founded around 1050 by Emperor Henry III. This imposing fortress served as a 'Reichsfeste', protecting the Holy Roman Empire and offering a view of almost all of Moravia.
During the summer, the courtyard turns into a stage for medieval feasts and theatrical performances. The castle hides natural limestone caves and historic vaults with artifacts documenting the history of the Anabaptist movement.
Special tours for children allow them to feel like a medieval scribe and take part in games in the tournament courtyard. The castle also offers fantastic views of the surrounding Weinviertel region.
